From winter mornings in Kempton Park, warming his school uniform on the heater to scooping almost every major accolade in advertising, Salomon’s journey has been alchemical. Now, he returns home to flex his foundational sensibilities.
The son of missionary parents, Salomon is a self-taught filmmaker whose international upbringing — spanning Johannesburg, Dubai and Sydney — shapes his visceral, meditative style. His textural, experimental work pushes the boundaries of visual storytelling, always anchored by a deeply human core.
He’s been featured in the Saatchi & Saatchi and 1.4 New Directors Showcases, won two Golds and three Silvers at the YDAs, a Gold Cannes Lion, multiple AICP awards with work exhibited at MoMA, and UKMVA wins for Best Editing and Best Color Grading. He’s also received honours from the British Arrows, D&AD and Shots, including shortlists for Music Video of the Year and Best New Director.
His body of work spans evocative shorts like ROCKET WARS and MOEDER, commercials for Apple, Puma, Adidas, Mercedes, S7 and Top Boy, and music videos for artists including Justin Bieber, Giveon, Little Simz, Don Toliver, Prince, Skrillex, The Weeknd, Daughter, Bearcubs and Young Fathers.
